There is good food all around us (and some bad) and I really enjoy trying new, unique and well prepared foods. Sometimes the cuisine is down right amazing, often it's enjoyable, while other times it should never be served again. That's where I come in! I want you - "To Know, Before You Go!" Food Gnawledge is your source for knowing what restaurants you should take the time to check out as well as those you should definitely stay away from.
My focus is to share the very best of the one off's or one-of-a-kind, non-chained restaurants that the Twin Cities has to offer. Along the way, we will indeed come across a place that needs to make changes. On an occasional basis, I will share my thoughts about a new chain as well. Why so much hatred for chains? Because I think a lot of the chains out there are preparing food not worth consuming!
Why should anyone consider listening to what I have to say? Some may call it being a food snob, but I call it being Gnawledgable of the local restaurant scene and feeling that I have a well diverse pallet. I'm also an avid at home "chef" and always trying new things in the kitchen, on the grill or in the smoker, that sound tasty or trying to replicate a plate I've come across in my journey. My wife Melissa and I travel all over the metro trying new things. We have our favorites and of course restaurants we refuse to visit, but, one thing is certain... you will always know, before you go!
A little more about Nicholas:
I was born in good ol' Cowtwon USA, South St. Paul, Mn. My parents and grandfather taught me how to play hockey at the early age of 3 and I continue to play today. My wife and I currently reside in Rosemount, Mn with our little monsters Easton and Oliver - who by the way, loves food like mommy and daddy. We share a lot of the same interests and enjoy getting to experience new things together, like food.
We've enjoyed traveling together where we've been able to enjoy some of the finest cuisine a person will find and prepared by great executive chefs and their teams. We're always trying to enjoy life, trying new things and look for the next adventure to add to our journey in life.
When we're not out and about trying new foods, you can find me with my chef coat on in the kitchen whipping up something delicious for the family to enjoy. You never know where we'll end up or what we'll find, but having Food Gnawledge in your back pocket will help guide you in making a positive culinary decision.
