From Air Cafe To Woodfire Grill

Want to see what the best chicken sandwich I have yet to have looks like? Well It's coming, but how about I let you know about the who, what, when, where and why's first. About 10 years ago I had my last meal that I can remember at what was once called Doolittles Air Cafe which served some really good food, but times have changed at 2140 Cliff Road in Eagan.

Today, Doolittles Woodfire Grill is serving its customers some excellent culinary treats and before you can even tell the host/hostess how many is in your party, you're overwhelmed with one heck of a great smell! Directly behind the host/hostess stand is a giant woodfire rotisserie cooking full chickens and all I wanted to do was start eating straight from the fire, but we all not that wouldn't be the best thing to do. I may have gotten hurt! :) In the kitchen... some more woodfire cooking and the food smelled amazing, looked amazing and tasted amazing.

During my fiance and I's first visit together since the name change, we ordered light as we were having lunch which included the following: Woodfire Buffalo Wings (wait until you see these things), a side Caesar salad and remember my comment about the best chicken sandwich? No joke, their Rotisserie Chicken Sandwich w/fontina, shredded lettuce, chipotle aioli on a grilled potato bun is to die for!

Have food allergies? No problem! They have a pretty extensive gluten free menu as well for those of you who need to watch what you eat. Same great flavors, but OK to eat for those who need the special menu. This may have been my first visit, but it is definitely not going to be the last time. There's simply too many things on the menu that I want to try! Suppose you want to see what I had the privilege of eating??? OK FINE! :)

Ever see a FULL size chicken wing that hasn't been separated? How about one that is cooked over and open flame instead of battered and deep fried? 14 herbs and spices? Saying no? I did! Don't forget to dip these things in their blue cheese dressing, because it's not just any blue cheese. Not sure what it is, but I could've drank that stuff.
